Best Vegetarian Weight Loss Indian Recipes

Weight loss is the combination of regular exercise and proper diet. However, some or the other days we all have come across diet food which are either costly, or we don’t find the ingredients easily. But don’t you worry; I have brought some Indian recipes which will defiantly help you to make your weight loss journey easier.

GREEN MOONG CHILLA

Green moong also known as green grams is one of the best sources of energy with low fat ant high protein. It keeps you full for a longer period without adding to any additional fats to your diet.

Ingredients:

One medium bowl sprouted green beans

Two medium size green chilly

One tea spoon ginger garlic paste

Chopped coriander

Salt (as per taste)

Oil (as required)

Procedure:

Take all the above ingredients except oil into a mixer grinder and grind it into a fine paste. Add water to make it of running consistency. Now, take a pan brush it with little bit of oil, for oil you can use any oil you have at your house. Spared the mixture on the pan and let it cook on medium flame for 5–6 min. Flip it over and let it cook for 5–6 min more. And done, your green moong chilla is ready.

CAULIFLOWER CUTLETS

Cauliflower is not only a good source of proteins, calcium and fibers but also a huge source of vitamin C. Many of us don’t like cauliflower as such, but this recipe will make you fall in love with it.

Ingredients:

One medium bowl of boiled cauliflower

Half cup boiled potato

Half a cup soaked poha (flattened rice)

Chopped coriander

Cumin powder

Red chili powder, a pinch of turmeric powder, salt as per taste

Procedure:

Take a blow and add boiled cauliflower, boiled potatoes, soaked poha, coriander and all the powdered spices. Mash it well without adding any water.

Now make small balls out of the mashed vegetables and flatten it like a veg cutlet. Take a pan, brush a little bit of oil, ghee, or butter as per your taste and place the cutlets over the pan at medium flame. Let it turn golden brown and crispy on each side and turn off the flame. Serve it with mint chutney (procedure is in the end)

MASALA JOWAR BHAKRI

Jowar is well known for its numerous benefits like it helps in controlling sugar, as it is gluten free therefor can be easily digested and also prevents blotting, it is a rich source or protein as well as good amount of fiber.

Ingredients:

Jowar flour one medium bowl (2 servings)

One finely chopped medium size onion

Finely chopped green chili

Chopped coriander

Cumin powder (one tea spoon)

Seismic seeds (one tea spoon)

Salt as per taste

Procedure:

In a blow add all the ingredients and Jowar flour and knead into dough. Keep it a bit loose so that it will spread easily while making bhakres.

Now spread some dry flour on the platform and take medium size dough and press with your palms to make a thin round bhakri. Then add some ghee to the pan and roast the bhakri on both the side till it gets crisp. Apply ghee on both the side to make it tastier. Serve it will any vegetable of your choice.

OATS DOSA

When it comes to weight loss, oats is the only option we could think of. It is high in fibers, helps in digestion and also low in fats. Here is a tasty recipe.

Ingredients:

One cup of powdered oats

One cup of buttermilk

Finely chopped onion

Finely chopped carrot (optional)

Finely chopped green chilly

Chopped coriander

Salt for taste

Procedure:

Mix the powered oats into the buttermilk, and add all the ingredients to the mixture. Let the consistency be in between thick and runny.

Now, brush a small amount of oil/butter/ghee onto the pan and spread the batter in a thin layer. Let it turn golden and crisp on both the side and serve it with any chutney of your choice.

Paneer or cottage cheese is known for its protein contains and good fats. Very useful in weight management when eaten in a proper proportion.

Ingredients:

Few medium size cubes of paneer

One cup curd

6–7 mint leaves paste

Two tea spoon red chili powder

One tea spoon turmeric powder

Half a lemon juice

One tea spoon coriander powder

Salt as per taste

Procedure:

Take the curd in a bowl and mix it well for no lumps. Add all the dry spices and lemon juice and mix. Lastly add paneer cubes and coat it well with the mixture. Let it settle for 1 hour.

Now, brush the pan with little bit of oil or butter or ghee, take skewers (long sticks to poke into paneer pieces), insert the pieces into in (3–4 into one stick), and place it on the pan. Apply the remaining mixture on the top of the pieces and let it roast at medium flame till it gets golden brown at each side. Turn over periodically for even cooking.

Note: If you don’t sticks or skewers, you can use fork for the same. Just insert two pieces on each fork and will do the work.

As all the above dishes can be eaten with sauce or ketchup, however it will add some or the other amount of bad fats into your diet dish. Here is a healthy option to it.

Pudina chutney (mint)

Ingredients:

One blow full of mint leaves

Two green chilies

Chopped coriander

One tablespoon ginger garlic paste

Few drops of lemon juice

Procedure:

Add everything into a mixer grinder and mix it well. Add some amount of water to make the consistency semi solid.
